Working together on success

Our growers want to be outstanding at what they do. This means that they do everything possible to realise a maximum yield and the very best quality. That not only requires the right variety, but also the passion, knowledge, experience and cooperation with a valuable partner such as De Ruiter.

De Ruiter specialises in the breeding, production and sale of hybrid seeds for greenhouse growing of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants and zucchini. Our high quality rootstock, which has been marketed successfully for decades, enable growers to achieve their goals.

Oustanding customer service, continual innovation and specific professional know-how are the ingredients of our promise to help every customer realise their growing potential.

Leader in innovations

De Ruiter is a leader in the supply of greenhouse growing solutions – from plant breeding to precision plants, biochemical crop protection and crop analyses – that not only help to improve yields, but also to improve lives. De Ruiter is one of only 111 companies in the world that invest more than a billion dollars a year in research and development. This investment helps growers to improve product taste and nutritional value whilst helping them to overcome problems with pests and varying climatic conditions.

Generations of Experience

The story of De Ruiter Vegetable Seeds begins with our Dutch heritage. The Netherlands has proved to be the perfect canvas for innovative  minds in seed science since the 1500s. These pioneers knew seed could grow more than a vegetable: seed could create a masterpiece.

Wouter Pieter Johannes de Ruiter was the founder of not only a company, but also of a tradition of being at the forefront of innovation. Like our founder, all professionals at De Ruiter are passionate about using science to achieve better varieties, bringing advanced features in taste, production and resistances to pests and diseases.

That philosophy is what started our company, and after nearly 75 years of our history, its just as true today.
